What is MVP (Minimum Viable Product)?

The smallest version of a product that tests your riskiest assumption with real users.

An MVP is a learning tool, not a cheap version of your dream product. It can be a landing page, a manual (concierge) service or a single-feature app. The goal is maximum learning for minimum time and money.

Example

A grocery-delivery founder takes orders on WhatsApp and delivers personally for a month before building an app.
